Your Verint Identity Management profile includes personal details such as the email address, name, and phone number you use across Verint Identity-enabled products.

If Identity Management authenticates your identity, your profile also includes the password you use to sign in to the Identity Management portal and your Verint Identity-enabled products.

Users can view information in their own profile and, depending on how Identity Management is configured, some users can change fields such as their name, email address, phone number, and if included, their password.

Changes to your name, email address, or phone number in Identity Management can take up to an hour to take effect across all of your Verint Identity-enabled products.

Before you begin

Procedure

From the menu next to your profile icon, select Profile.
If you can modify your profile:
1. Select the profile information that you want to change.
2. Make the required changes and select Save.
To exit your profile, sign out of the Identity Management portal.

All users managed through Identity Management are either activated or deactivated.

If activated, the user can sign in to their Verint Identity-enabled products. They can also sign in to Identity Management to view or modify their own identity profile.
If deactivated, the user is prevented from signing in to their Verint Identity-enabled products. On attempting to sign in, Identity Management displays a message to inform the deactivated user that their account is locked.

Only Verint Identity Management administrators can create, view, and manage users.

Procedure

Under User Management, select Users.
To filter the list, select a filter tab:
- To view only activated users, select Activated
- To view only deactivated users, select Deactivated
To return to the list of all users, select All.
To sort the user list by column, alphabetically or numerically:
1. Move the cursor to the column name. If the cursor changes from a pointer to a hand, you can sort by that column.
2. Place the cursor over the column name until a sort icon appears.
3. Select the column name.
  
  The sort icon remains visible to indicate that the list is sorted by that column.
To reverse the order, select the column name again.

Administrators use the Identity Management portal to view and manage user provisioning details, activate and deactivate accounts, and for users authenticated through the Identity Service, password resets.

Only Verint Identity Management administrators can view and manage other users.

User provisioning

Each user managed by Identity Management has a user profile that contains their provisioning information such as user ID, email address, and user name.

Identity Management profiles for federated users include the provisioning information held by their Identity Provider (IdP):

If your IdP is set up to provide Identity Management with provisioning details automatically, user profiles are created and updated automatically from the information held by your IdP.

If Identity Management does not receive provisioning details automatically, you can create profiles for federated users manually. By replicating the information held by your IdP into Identity Management profiles, you can use Identity Management to control user access to Verint Identity-enabled products by deactivating and activating users.

Non-federated users require user provisioning through Identity Management, which provides them with the accounts and credentials they need for Single Sign On (SSO) across all of their Verint Identity-enabled products. Identity Management also authenticates users when they access their Verint-identity enabled products.

For profiles that need to be created manually, Identity Management administrators can use the Import Users wizard to import data for a maximum of 5000 users at a time from a comma-separated values (CSV) file, or create each profile individually.

The Identity Management portal lists the profiles for both federated and non-federated users.

Access control

Activating and deactivating users through Identity Management controls their access to Verint Identity-enabled products. Deactivation prevents a user from signing in to Verint products until they are activated again.

Password resets

Administrators initiate password resets for users authenticated through Verint Identity Management.

IdP link resets

Rarely, a federated user can experience an issue signing in to a Verint Identity-enabled product with valid credentials. This issue can occur if the user is deleted and recreated again in the IdP, or if there is a delay before the user signs in after their Identity Management profile has been created. Identity Management administrators can reset the IdP link from the Identity Management portal to clear the issue.

To share administration responsibilities, administrators can promote other users to the Verint Identity Management administrator role.

User properties include personal information about a user such as a name or email address, and account information that Verint Identity Management uses for authentication.

Only Verint Identity Management administrators can view and change user properties.

Identity Management administrators sign in to the portal to view and manage Verint Identity users. Users with a Verint Identity profile can also sign in to view their own profile.

Only Verint Identity Management administrators can view and manage the profiles of other users.

Before you begin

Check which URL you need to use to access the Identity Management portal. See: Accessing the Verint Identity Management portal.
Identity V2 and V1 refer to Verint Identity platforms. To check whether your Identity Provider (IdP) is configured for Identity V2 or V1, contact your IdP administrator or Verint Support. For a non-federated configuration, contact Verint Support.

Procedure

In a browser, go to the Identity Management site for your compliance zone.
Enter the user name that you use to sign in to your Verint Identity-enabled products.
Optionally, switch to a different Verint Identity platform (Identity V2 or Identity V1).
The next time you sign in, Verint sets your selected platform as the default.
Select Continue.
When prompted, enter your password.
If you are prompted to provide Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), use your MFA application to confirm your identity.

If your Identity Provider (IdP) uses the System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) protocol to integrate with the Identity Service, your company or organization can configure SCIM groups in your IdP to control user access to your Verint Identity-enabled products. When configured, the Identity Service receives product assignment group membership details from your IdP and controls user access based on that membership.

If set up incorrectly, SCIM groups for product assignment can prevent users accessing Verint identity-enabled products and services:

The SCIM group name in your IdP must match the product group name and format provided by Verint. For advice on configuring SCIM groups and product assignment, contact Verint Support.
If your IdP SCIM configuration includes a product assignment group, unassigned users are denied access to the associated product or service.

Setting up your IdP with SCIM groups for product assignment is optional. By default, all users provisioned from your IdP to Identity Management through SCIM can access all of your Verint Identity-enabled products.

Product group names

The Identity Service requires your IdP to use specific SCIM group names provided by Verint. Each group name identifies a product.

The Product groups tab under SCIM Settings shows the names of the groups your company or organization can configure as SCIM groups in the IdP for product assignment. The list is based on your Verint product subscriptions.

Each product group name identifies a Verint product and its deployment instance, and has the format:

prefixVerint.Suite.Application.Instance identifier

The name includes:

Prefix: Optional text used to distinguish the group in your company or organization, such as SalesTeam or CallCenterAgents. The Identity Service ignores the prefix.
Verint: Required by the Identity Service to identify the SCIM group name as a Verint product group.
Suite: Name of the product suite such as Workforce Engagement (WFE).
Application: Name of a component within a product suite such as Workforce Management (WFM), part of the WFE product suite.
Instance identifier: Identifies a product instance.

Example: SalesTeamVerint.WFE.WFM.1234-9876-332

The name is not case-sensitive.

Any keyword

To allow users access to any suite, component, or product instance, you can use the keyword any instead of Suite, Application, and Instance Identifier. The any keyword is not case-sensitive.

Examples:

SalesTeamVerint.WFE.any or SalesTeamVerint.WFE.any.any
The Sales Team group can access all components and all instances within the WFE product suite.
CCAgentsVerint.any
The CCAgents group can access all product subscriptions and instances.

SCIM connection details are the configuration settings your company or organization uses to set up a connection between your Identity Provider (IdP) and Identity Management.

Setting	Description
SCIM gateway URL	The Identity Service acts as a SCIM gateway between your IdP and Verint identity-enabled products and services. The URL identifies the gateway to your IdP.
SCIM gateway token	A JSON Web Token (JWT) your IdP uses to access the SCIM gateway. The SCIM gateway token is unique to your IdP integration with Identity Management.
SCIM gateway token expiry	Expiry date for the SCIM gateway token. When a SCIM gateway token is about to expire, the Verint support team will contact your company or organization with details of how to obtain a new token.

SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management) provides a standard way for Identity Providers (IdPs) and service providers to communicate. If your IdP uses SCIM to synchronize user identities with Identity Management, the IdP synchronizes identity life-cycle events (user creation, updates, and deletion) to Identity Management.

SCIM settings show the configuration information required by your IdP for SCIM integration with Verint Identity.

The Identity Management portal includes SCIM Settings only if your IdP uses SCIM to exchange user details with Verint Identity.

SCIM configuration settings include:

Connection details required when your company or organization first configures your IdP to exchange SCIM information with Identity Management, or if your IdP SCIM configuration changes.
Product groups that the IdP SCIM configuration can include as SCIM groups. SCIM groups are attributes configured in your IdP and used to organize users with similar roles and permissions into categories or teams. By adding users to SCIM groups that match Verint product groups, your company or organization can apply group-based access control to Verint identity-enabled products. With group-based access control, only users who belong to a specific group have access to a specific Verint Identity-enabled product.

If you forget your password or your password expires, use reset password to create a new password. Reset password is an option available at sign-in to users authenticated by Verint Identity (non-federated users).

Identity Management requires you to reset your password if your password is older than 90 days, or after three failed sign-ins due to an incorrect password.

Before you begin

Check which URL you need to use to access the Identity Management portal. See: Accessing the Verint Identity Management portal.

Procedure

In a browser, go to the Identity Management site for your compliance zone.
On the Verint sign-in page, enter your user name in the User ID field, and select Continue.
If you are prompted for your User ID again, reenter your user name and select Continue.
Select Reset password.
Enter your user name and select Send reset email.
If you are prompted to provide Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), use your MFA application to confirm your identity.
Verint emails a link to the address in your profile. Open the email and select Reset password.
Follow the guidelines for a new password, enter and confirm, then select Change Password.

Multi-factor authentication (MFA), also known as two-step verification, adds an extra layer of security to an account by requiring more than just a password for sign-in. Typically, MFA requires you to enter a code displayed on your computer into an app on your phone (or the other way around) to confirm it's you.

If Verint has enabled MFA for your company or organization and a user can no longer use their device to sign in with MFA (for example, the user has lost their phone), a Verint Identity Management administrator can reset MFA for the user in the Identity Management portal. This action is equivalent to removing the user's MFA registration and requires the user to set up MFA again on another phone.

The Reset MFA option is only available if Verint has enabled MFA for your company or organization.

Procedure 1

Under User Management, select Users.
From the list of users, locate the row for the user.
Under Actions, select the menu option (three vertical dots).
Select Reset MFA.
At the prompt, select OK.
Ask the user to set up MFA again on another phone.

Procedure 2

Under User Management, select Users.
From the list of users, locate the user and select their user name.
Each user name links to the information that an Identity Management administrator can view or edit for a user.
Select Reset MFA.
At the prompt, select OK.

Verint Identity authenticates federated users through your Identity Provider (IdP). When Verint Identity sends an authentication request for a user, the request includes a user identifier. If the IdP does not recognize the identifier, the user cannot sign in to Verint Identity-enabled products. If this issue occurs, Identity Management administrators can reset the IdP link to synchronize details for that user.

Typically, identifier issues can develop if a user account is deleted and recreated in the IdP but not in Identity Management, or if there is a delay before the user signs in after their Identity Management profile is created.

The Reset IdP Link option is only available for federated users.

Procedure 1

Under User Management, select Users.
From the list of users, locate the row for the user.
Under Actions, select the menu option (three vertical dots).
Select Reset IdP Link.
At the prompt, select OK.

Verint uses the information in your profile across all of your Verint Identity-enabled products.

Verint Identity Management administrators use the Reset Password option to initiate a password reset for another user if the user is authenticated by Verint Identity. The user receives a password reset link by email.

Verint Identity Management administrators can initiate password resets for non-federated users only. The Reset Password option is not available for federated users.

From the list of users, locate the user and select their user name.
Each user name links to the information that an Identity Management administrator can view or edit for a user.
Select Reset Password.
At the prompt, select OK.

All users can change the information stored in their own Verint Identity Management profile. Verint Identity Management administrators also modify information for other users, updating details such as their user name, email address, or phone number.

Only Verint Identity Management administrators can modify the profiles of other users.

If Identity Management synchronizes user details automatically from an Identity Provider (IdP), user names in Identity Management match the user names held by the IdP.

However, if you need to change a user name in your IdP and create a new user to accommodate the change, synchronization with Identity Management can fail. Identity Management rejects the change because the profile for the user already exists. To resolve the issue, update the Identity Management user profile manually.

Procedure 1

Under User Management, select Users.
From the list of users, locate the user and select their user name.

Each user name links to the information that a Verint Identity Management administrator can view or edit for a user.
Select Edit.
Make the required changes to the user properties.
Select Save.

Under User Management, select Users.
In the list of users, move the cursor to the row for the user.
Under Actions, select the edit option (pencil icon).
